| dcterms.abstract | Annual report of the CGIAR devoted largely to a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Group. Part I consists of an introduction written by Executive Secretary Alexander von der Osten, a review of events covering the period from the mid term meeting of 1995 through the mid term meeting of 1996 which saw the completion of the renewal process, a summary of financial highlights, and a chapter on the CGIAR Gender Program.Part II consists of chapters commemorating the first 25 years of the CGIAR written by Chairman Ismail Serageldin and all former chairmen: Richard Demuth, Warren Baum, S. Shahid Husain, W. David Hopper, Wilfried Thalwitz, and V. Rajagopalan. Two additional chapters were contributed by M.S. Swaminathan and Lucia de Vaccaro. Part III provides tables on contributions to the agreed research agenda by member and by center from 1972 to 1995. | en |
