The Minutes of the Center Directors Meeting of March 1980 held at IRRI in Manila, record discussions on center policies related to international staff salaries and benefits, Center Board policies. The role and effectiveness of boards and the perception that boards are not fulfilling their responsibilities in certain areas is also discussed with particular reference to a paper, “The Role and Responsibilities of the Board of Trustees of the IARC’s.” The minutes also record discussions on the IIE services package, center program activities under the Title XII, the general funding situation and how the funding shortfall will be addressed.
