A record of Center Directors discussions on public awareness and initiatives to be undertaken to increase support to IARCs, a strategy for allocating and administering interim reductions in budgets, the review process and a paper on, “Overview of Management in the CGIAR Centers. Also recorded are discussions related to a depreciation fund, center networking on biosafety, cooperation with the private sector, administration and finances to maximize economies, and usefulness of being linked to the UNDP to facilitate staff movement. Brief reports of the Benefits, Sustainability, Training and SSA Committees are presented in the minutes and under emerging issues the DG’s propose the development of a briefing guide for incoming DG’s, consideration to AIDS in South Africa, New World Screw-worm, and an initiative to tap new sources of funds.
