The International Livestock Centre for Africa (ILCA) has just launched a quarterly publication, the'Cattle Research Network Newsletter', to aid communication among those working to maximize the exploitation of scarce resources by coordinating the efforts of researchers, producers, and policy-makers working on cattle milk and meat development in Africa. The main objectives of this newsletter are to provide a link between these people and to keep them abreast of developments in their own and other countries, and to provide information on improved cattle milk and meat production technologies in sub-Saharan AfAca in a form that can be easily understood by extension workers as well as producers - thus accelerating the rate of technology application, particularly at smallholder level. 'Cattle research network newsletter' is aimed at a wide range of researchers as well as fieldworkers and the general scientific community. It publishes articles presenting research results and describing current or completed research, short articles on practical aspects of cattle milk and meat research and development, news from conferences, workshops and seminars, and advance notices of meetings and training courses.
