| dcterms.description | The Chalcidoidea database describes a sort of wasp super-family, probably 'the most important group of insects in terms of economic impact, biological control and biodiversity.' It features an immense amount of information (in English) on their biology and physiology, and their use in biocontrol. The database contains a complete World Catalogue of all 26,000 names used in Chalcidoidea, more than 95,000 host records, over 110,000 distribution records, 300 colour images of adults and immature stages of most families. The CD-ROM, first published in August 1998, comes with a powerful search system, using a Windows 95 environment. A Macintosh edition may be produced if there is sufficient demand.
