Business Information Services (BIS) has set up a network of district centres where farmers can access online information on the prices and availability of farm inputs such as fertilizers, seeds and pesticides. They are therefore able to buy from the right source at the right price, cutting out middlemen, and reducing production costs. The centres also offer reliable information on market prices of crops such as cashew nuts, cotton, maize and rice, and advice on transportation and best farming practices.
