FOREWORD FROM THE EDITOR Welcome to the second issue of the EAFF Advocacy newsletter. Policy advocacy is one of the core mandates of the Eastern Africa Farmers Federation. This publication aims to highlight the various activities that we have undertaken over the period April to August this year, 2010. In this edition, we provide a brief report of the meeting held between the EAFF board and two Members of Parliament from the East African Legislative Assembly and we provide a summary on an investigation undertaken by EAFF on the policy-making process at the East African Community. One of the core advocacy issues on EAFF’s agenda this year is a Regional Cooperative Policy. The EAFF policy officer conducted an interview with Prof. Suleman Chambo, the Principal of Moshi University College of Cooperatives and Business Studies In Moshi, Tanzania. The interview, capture in this edition, captures the Prof’s thought on what key elements of what should constitute a regional cooperative policy.en
