dcterms.descriptionThe African Books Collective is a self-help initiative by a group of African publishers to promote their books in Europe, in North America and in Commonwealth countries outside Africa. ABC is represented by publishers on a broad regional basis throughout East, West Central and Southern Africa. For the time being, the African Books Collective stocks only English-language material, with an emphasis on scholarly and academic books, creative writing by African authors and critical works on African literature children's books and certain general interest titles are also stocked. Of particular interest to Spore readers is their ABC subject catalogue, No 7- New and recent titles on Agriculture Biotechnology and Environmental Studies and associated sciences. The catalogue is available free on request to ABC. All titles distributed by the Collective are displayed at their headquarters showroom in Oxford, UK, where librarians, teachers, researchers and other book buyers are welcome to visit and browse (by appointment only) through the range of titles available.
