Abstract/Description

Reports results related to a 4-year study of early reporductive traits in traditionally managed flocks of indigenous goats and sheep under semi-arid conditions; compares animals raised under the irrigated rice system and the rainfed millet system, animals born of young, middle aged and old dams, seasons of birth (cold, hot, rain) and type of birth (single, twin or tripled) to assess the effects on weight at first conception and ages at first and second parturitions.
