| dcterms.description | The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) has produced a series of research guides to provide information and guidance to scientists and technicians who are conducting research for agricultural development. The guides are intended as research and training aids. These small booklets, mostly of no more than 30 pages, cover a wide range of subjects, including Security at agricultural research stations; Traditional processing and utilization of cassava in Africa; Labour requirement in assessment of technologies; Insect pests of maize in storage: biology and control; Soils sampling and sample preparation, and Aquatic resources to agricultural research stations. Each guide begins with a page which defines objectives, specifies the study materials required and explains the work to be carried out. This is followed by a questionnaire which asks the user of the guide to think about the cause and effect of different aspects of the subject subsequently covered in the guide.
