Abstract/Description

Document discussing the composition, and structure of effective Center boards, the role of the nominating committee, and the process of identifying and recruiting new board members. This was the third in a series of seven reference guides for CGIAR centers and their boards of trustees, published in 1997. The guides were prepared by the CGIAR Secretariat and the National Center for Nonprofit Boards (NCNB), and reviewed by the Oversight Committee and the Committee of Board Chairs (CBC). The first guide was discussed at the CGIAR Mid Term Meeting in May 1996.
