Abstract/Description
The founding principle for the creation of GDD was that increased interaction between key stakeholders was critical for sustainable dam development. The project successfully brought together dam affected communities, hydropower authorities, government ministries and other organizations by facilitating a transparent and non-confrontational dialogue. Five years after its inception, it is the first successful inclusive planning tool for dam development in West Africa.
