Abstract/Description

PENAPH implements a program integrating targeted action research, policy enhancement and education. It nurtures collaborative research and diffusion of learning among experts in participatory epidemiology from around the world, to speed detection of emerging or re-emerging diseases. Emphasis is placed on building the capacity of veterinary and public health services and educational institutions.

The purpose of the project is to enhance adaptation to climate variability through effective knowledge sharing processes in vulnerable ecosystems of the arid and semi arid lands (ASALs) of Kenya. This involves development and adaptation of methods that render mutual learning between livestock keepers and scientists more effective.
