CGIAR 1996 Financial Report

Annual report issued by the CGIAR Secretariat to inform System participants of developments in the financing of activities. This report was expanded and more complete than previous versions, including background and context material to aid the reader not familiar with the new financial processes of the CGIAR.The report describes the initial problems in meeting 1996 financial targets, and the steps taken during the year to achieve funding for the research agenda of $304 million, consolidating the achievements of the renewal program begun in 1994. The main headings of the report are overview, 1996 CGIAR funding, agenda resources used by centers in 1996, 1996 financial position, and compliance with financial guidelines.Annex tables provide information on donor funding and center operations for the period 1992 to 1996, and CGIAR contributions from 1972.
