Abstract/Description
CGIAR Secretariat paper examining whether the CGIAR should sanction non-CGIAR research by conferring associate status on programs not funded by the Group, and whether it should provide partial funding for relevant research activities not qualified for full support. A paper on the same subject prepared in October 1977 is attached, and summaries are provided of discussions of the issues in the CGIAR, in TAC and among the center directors. The Secretariat recommends abolishing associate status and sticking to full funding of activities in the future. Agenda document, CGIAR meeting November 1978.
