Abstract/Description
The EzyAgric app provides smallholder farmers with an integrated service platform to support farm management and good agricultural practices, and access to agri-inputs and credit in Uganda.
The EzyAgric is an App accessible on the Google Play Store, bundling various digital services targeting farmers and agri-input merchants. The services include Farm Manager for undertaking a Cost Benefit Analysis, and proper record management is accessed; Agri-shop, where a platform to digitally purchase genuinely affordable price agri-inputs from certified bulk agro-input manufacturers while providing an end-to-end feedback loop and a traceability trail; EzyCredits where farmers receive credits calculated based on the records generated from Farm Manager and Agrishop transactions as collateral, redeemable for purchase exclusively via the Agri-shop; Farm Manager provides on-demand information and training tailored to specific agronomic needs. The Produce Market links farmers to aggregation centers established around off-takers and payments made directly to the farmer’s phone. A toll-free call and SMS platform is provided where non-smartphone farmers can access the services. The working model integrates women and youth with smartphones as community agents/service providers.
