Report of the NGO Committee to CGIAR International Centers Week 1995

Report of the first meeting of the CGIAR NGO Committee in October 1995 just prior to CGIAR International Centers Week, October - November 1995. The committee was established by the CGIAR Chairman as the result of a decision at the CGIAR Ministerial level meeting in Lucerne. It consisted of individuals acting in their own capacity drawn from the NGO community.The report describes the purposes and strategies of the new Committee, and sets forth a number of goals for discussion with the CGIAR, with an emphasis on sustainability, biodiversity, equitable opportunity for the rural and urban poor, livelihoods and food security, and empowerment of communities and particularly women's groups.Agenda document at CGIAR International Centers Week, October - November 1995.
