Report of the Impact Assessment and Evaluation Group to the CGIAR Mid Term Meeting 1998

Report of the Impact Assessment and Evaluation Group (IAEG) to the CGIAR Mid Term Meeting 1998 on the Group's activities since International Centers Week 1997. The report provides the IAEG's terms of reference and membership, and describes progress in establishing its Secretariat at UN Development Programme headquarters in New York.The Group's work program is described by project, including its preparation of the 1998 annual report on CGIAR impacts, methodological review and synthesis of existing CGIAR ex post impact assessments, and assessments of the impact of CGIAR crop germplasm improvement on food production, adoption of CGIAR innovations (with 10 subprojects), and the impacts of these innovations on poverty to be led by IFPRI. Initial work on identifying essential data for evaluation, and natural resources management is reported.
