| dcterms.abstract | Report of the NGO Committee to the CGIAR Annual General Meeting 2001Report of the CGIAR NGO Committee to the stakeholders' meeting at the 2001 CGIAR Annual General Meeting on the Committee's activities since the 2001 Mid Term Meeting in May. The report covered the Committee's interactions with civil society organizations through regional and thematic meetings, conferences, and workshops, and with GFAR, FAO, IFAD, and the CGIAR Interim Executive Council and Committee of Board Chairs. Committee members reiterated their appeal for the creation of a CGIAR farmer committee as an important measure for enhancing the participation of civil society organizations in CGIAR decision making and regional priority setting. The report ends with a list of publications and reports by Committee members. Four documents are annexed:1. 'The Guacimo Declaration on Agricultural Research in Mesoamerica' - a statement on the conclusions of a meeting on participatory approaches to research agenda setting to address the needs of peasant-indigenous-black communities in Central America, held in Guacimo, Costa Rica in August 20012. 'Toward Building an Asian Civil Society Organization Consensus on Agricultural Research, Extension, and Farmer Linkages' - the report of a regional consultation on food security and the pursuit of the objectives of the World Food Summit held in Bangkok in August 20013.
